From The Mouths Of Roaring Lions Volume Two, Number One

The following are movies that I have seen since the last issue of "From the Mouths of Roaring Lions" with ratings (from 0 - 4):

Monsters, Inc.
3 (***) Stars

This is an excellent movie for kids, as well as adults. Great animation and a good story. It reminded me about loving the children in our world.

Monsters, Inc. is a Pixar movie. Pixar has also done Toy Story and Toy Story II. The characters in Monsters are great. My favorites were a little girl named Boo (Mary Gibbs) and John P. Sullivan, known to his friends as Sulley (John Goodman). Other characters included Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), CEO Henry J. Waternoose (James Coburn), the receptionist Celia (Jennifer Tilly), and a chameleon monster, Randall Boggs (Steve Buscemi).

If you have a child either in your family or inside of you, Monsters, Inc. is a must-see.

Riding in Cars with Boys
3.5 (***1/2) Stars

This is a great movie starring Drew Barrymore, Brittany Murphy, James Woods, Steve Zahn, and Lorraine Bracco . It takes you through Beverly's (Barrymore) childhood in the 1950's, teenage and motherhood years in the 1960's and 1970's. Its a good example of how teenage pregnancy can change someone's entire life. This flick also shows the destruction of addiction. And it occurs in a setting where there were not many resources for heroin addicts, even in New York City. Directed by Penny Marshall, Riding in Cars with Boys truly a hit!

HARRY POTTER

From L - R: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.

Behind Enemy Lines
3.5 (***1/2) Stars

Another great service-related Gene Hackman movie. I bet my wife $20.00 after the show that it was not a true story (she says every movie is a true story). Well, I still owe her a twenty, but more important (to me) is that this makes the movie even better.

Excellent performances by Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
3.5 (***1/2) Stars

I've heard mixed reviews on this movie. I thought it was excellent. Magical. People came to show dressed in wizard hats and all. Those attending reminded me a little bit of the Rocky Horror Picture Show - NOT. Anyway, this show is definately worth your time.

Out Cold
0 ( ZERO) Stars

What a waste of time. Question: Do companies like Walt Disney pay a sum of money to get a movie classified as PG13 or are these people just on their payroll?

If you have a child under the age of 18 dont allow them to go to this movie. Its full of senseless drinking, cursing, sex, and just plain simple obscenities. If your life is completely boring and you figure anything is better than your regular routine, try finger painting, soap operas, or the hoola hoop. Any of these are sure to be better than this movie.

This movie does not even deserve a ranking.
