REVIEWS BY SKT:

Traffic: ***(3)Star

"Traffic" was hiped up to be a great, great movie. I found it to be very good but not great. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, "Traffic" turns in excellent performances by Michael Douglas, Benicio Del Toro, Don Cheadle, Dennis Quaid, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Miguel Ferrer, and Luis Guzman.

I found it disturbing that the Drug Czar's daugter, played by Erika Christensen, portrayed the effects of crack/cocaine and heroin inaccurately. In addition, this is the year 2001 and people who have problems with such drugs as cocaine and heroin are usually connected with Narcotics Anonymous and not Alcoholics Anonymous. Furthermore, the US Drug Czar would ensure that his daughter was in a treatment facility where she was surrounded by others who are close to her age, as he would know the importance of peer support when treating drug addicted adolescents. Thr United States previous drug czar, Barry McCaffrey, was extremely knowledgeable in addiction, treatment and recovery (unlike the character that Douglas portrayed).

Letting the above items go, overall, this was a very good movie with top notch performances by the entire cast.

Hannibal: ***(3)Star

I know that many people had difficulty enjoying a Hannibal Lecter movie without Jodi Foster being in it, but within 10 minutes I had forgotten about Jodi.

Anthony Hopkins gives another brilliant performance as the infamous Doctor Lecter. Or, other wise known as Hannibal the Cannibal.

"Hannibal" is full of psychological wit, entangled with a subtle creepiness that lingers throughout the movie and keeps you wondering what will happen next.

Excellent performances by Julianne Moore, Giancarlo Giannini, Ray Liotta and Gary Oldman.

And of course, Anthony Hopkins is truly a masterpiece maker.

Finding Forrester: ****(4)Star

This was the best movie that I have seen in quite some time. Sean Connery and Rob Brown are magnificent! Playing the writer William Forrester, who wrote one book, won the Pulitzer Prize, and then disappeared from the public eye, Connery hooks up with a young athelete in Harlem who also writes. Finding Forrester is a journey into a relationship between two human becomings. This is a GREAT movie.

Exit Wounds: **(2)Star

This is a fun movie. Not a movie where you want to sit down and talk about the artistic performance of Steven Seagal. But this movie did get me laughing quite often.

The movies best performances are by Anthony Anderson and Tom Arnold. These guys are hillarious.

Down to Earth:

This remake of Warren Beatty's "Heaven Can Wait" (which was a remake of the 1941 movie "Here Comes Mr. Jordan")is a poor excuse for a movie.

Without Chris Rock, I would not even rate this movie. Rock had me laughing at times, but not a ticket price worth of laughs.
